SMC³ Honored as a Top 100 Logistics IT Company
Inbound Logistics magazine recognizes SMC³ for third year in a row

Peachtree City, GA - May 3, 2004—SMC³, a leading nationwide provider of Technology Tools for Transportation®, was recently listed by Inbound Logistics magazine as a top 100 logistics IT company, making it the third year in a row that the company received this distinction.

Each year the Inbound Logistics editorial staff researches and evaluates the product and service capabilities of logistics IT providers that include the largest, most well known companies, as well as the smaller, niche providers. For the 2004 annual technology issue, published in April, Inbound Logisticsanalyzed the offerings of more than 300 logistics IT companies.

"The main criteria was not size or revenue, but providing logistics IT solutions that best meet our readers' diverse needs," said Felecia J. Stratton, editor of Inbound Logistics. "SMC³ fits that criteria."

Throughout North America, carriers, shippers and third-party logistics providers utilize SMC³'s pricing technology, data and services to operate more effectively as the environment of freight transportation changes. Additionally, some of the best-known transportation technology developers integrate SMC³'s tools into their systems to better meet end-user needs. SMC³'s technology products are designed to work within a wide variety of system applications, including Windows, UNIX, Linux, AS/400 (iSeries) and mainframe. SMC³ also delivers products and services via the Internet.

CzarLite®, SMC³'s flagship product, is known as the less-than-truckload (LTL) industry's base rate standard. Shippers of all sizes, from the Fortune 500 to the casual and infrequent shipper, utilize CzarLite information to make informed LTL purchases. These shippers act both directly and indirectly through their technology software and transportation intermediaries. CzarLite has been licensed to more than 1,000 shippers, including over one-third of the Fortune 500 companies as well as small shippers who collectively account for more than $100 million in annualized transportation purchases.

"SMC³ is pleased to once again be chosen as a top 100 logistics IT company by Inbound Logistics," said Jack E. Middleton, president and CEO of SMC³. "This type of consistent recognition reinforces our position as a provider of valuable niche technology to the transportation industry."

SMC³'s alphabetical information listing is located on page 48 of the April edition of Inbound Logistics. The information contained within this listing is also used to populate the magazine's online "Logistics IT Decision Support Tool" throughout the year at www.inboundlogistics.com/lit100.
