
SMC³'s Winter Meeting to Feature Yellow Roadway CEO
Meeting focuses on business strategies and industry consolidation
Williamsburg, Va. - June 18, 2004—At the conclusion of its 49th Annual Summer Meeting in Williamsburg today, SMC³ announced that its next meeting will feature guest speaker William D. (Bill) Zollars, chairman, president and CEO of Yellow Roadway Corporation. SMC³'s 50th Annual Winter Meeting is scheduled to take place January 25-26, 2005 in Atlanta.
Zollars, the leader of one of the largest and most recognizable global transportation service providers, will discuss the changing industry dynamics resulting from last December's acquisition of Roadway Corporation by Yellow Corporation.
"The 2005 Winter Meeting will be a must attend event for every executive in the transportation industry," said John C. Rader, SMC³'s Directorof Industry and Educational Services. The two-day Winter Meeting program, "Shifting the Balance: Predicting the Impact of Industry Change," concludes a two-part educational initiative that analyzes transportation industry consolidation. The upcoming meeting will feature presentations by leading transportation experts on future opportunities and challenges within the industry. A key portion of the event will examine business strategies for managing the effects of consolidation.
