Peachtree City, Ga. - April 3, 2006— Attendees at SMC³'s 2006 Summer Conference will investigate emerging trends in global supply chain flexibility, visibility and security. The conference is scheduled to take place June 14-16 at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio.

The conference, “Flexible Horizons: Expansion and Visibility in the Global Supply Chain,” will explore the impact of globalization on firms of every size in the transportation industry.

Other session topics include preparing and executing a natural catastrophe contingency plan, a future vision for transportation infrastructure, the impact of globalization on technology and transportation, and conducting a successful transportation RFP/bid.

Speakers include transportation attorney John R. Bagileo, principal, The Law Office of John R. Bagileo; Michael J. Economides, professor, Cullen College of Engineering, University of Houston; and economic forecaster Donald Ratajczak. Larry Sabato, Robert Kent Gooch Professor of Politics, and director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, will join the geopolitical update presenters to give his analysis of the upcoming midterm elections.

“This is one of the most informative logistics events of the year,” Doug Granger, director, highway services, Hub Group, said.
