SMC³ Announces Updated Bid$ense Release Information

Peachtree City, GA - September 1, 2004—SMC³, a leading nationwide provider of Technology Tools for Transportation®, today announced informational updates regarding the upcoming release of its Bid$ense product, a much-anticipated addition to the company's family of LTL rating products and services.

SMC³’s Bid$enseSM for CzarLite® is a Web-based transportation purchasing system that enables shippers and carriers of LTL freight to participate in a uniform bid process. Bid$ense facilitates the entire RFP process, promoting a consistent and reliable information exchange between parties. The shipper utilizes the system to choose the best carrier for their shipping needs, based on a range of criteria that includes specific qualifiers such as price, coverage, transit times, performance measures and more. The carrier benefits by receiving the information they need to formulate an accurate bid for the shipper’s business. Carriers can also use the service to generate business by maintaining their company profile in the system.

The Bid$ense product is now in its final phase of testing and SMC³ is selecting current CzarLite shipper-customers to participate in its fall pilot program. Bid$ense will be made available to the general marketplace in the fourth quarter of 2004.

SMC³ will be featuring Bid$ense demonstrations at its booth (number 1127) during the NITL Transcomp exhibition in San Antonio November 13-16. Interested parties can also contact SMC³ Sales to request a demonstration at any time.

For more information on Bid$ense’s features, benefits and pricing, or to schedule a demonstration, call 800.845.8090 or email sales@smc3.com.
