SMC³ Celebrates Fifth Anniversary in Peachtree City
Peachtree City, GA - May 19, 2004—SMC³, a leading provider of Technology Tools for Transportation®, celebrated its fifth anniversary in Peachtree City during its annual “Varsity Day” event last Thursday.
Varsity Day was originally a one-time event planned to mark the first anniversary of SMC³’s move to Peachtree City. Due to tremendous community response, SMC³ decided to continue the event annually.
“I am excited to commemorate SMC³’s fifth anniversary in Peachtree City,” said Jack E. Middleton, president and CEO of SMC³. “We look forward to many more successful years here.”
Community members joined SMC³ employees to feast on chilidogs, burgers, fries, onion rings, Frosted Oranges and fried pies from The Varsity. In addition to the catering provided by the Atlanta-area landmark, attendees also enjoyed Edy’s ice cream and entertainment from the band, Timeless Highway.
In honor of SMC³’s long-standing relationship with the nation’s leading motor carriers, the Mighty Mite, Southeastern Freight Lines’ (Columbia, S.C.) custom-built miniature truck, was displayed during the event.
“The food was delicious, and the band was great,” Jeanette Stevens, program leader, Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America (Peachtree City, Ga.), said. “I can't wait until next year.”
Approximately 300 SMC³ employees, family members, local residents, Westpark neighbors and community leaders attended this year’s Varsity Day, including Lynn Westmoreland, former Georgia House Republican Leader and Eighth Congressional District candidate.
