- SMC³ is Now a Complete, Online Application Service Provider -
Peachtree City, GA - September 4, 2001 - SMC³ announces smc3.com, an all-new website geared toward the real-time acquisition of technology tools for transportation. The new website is designed as an ASP, or Application Service Provider, giving SMC³ clients the ability to license, access and run SMC³'s transportation pricing and data technology products online.
"This is not just an update to the site's look and feel, but more importantly the addition of an ASP," said Jack E. Middleton, president and CEO of SMC³. "This follows SMC³'s natural technology progression in product distribution, from print to digital to online. Although we will continue to offer our products in a CD format, eventually all SMC³ products will be accessible online as well."
Currently, four SMC³ products are available via smc3.com. They are CzarLite™, CanadaLite™, CzarLite International, and webRater™. The company plans to make its FastClass™ product available by year-end.
CzarLite base rates, the focal point for successful shipper, carrier and third party transportation agreements, combine an intelligent and fair pricing system with a full line of related products that can be easily implemented in mainframe, PC, UNIX or Internet-based applications. CzarLite base rates are available to use within the U.S. through the standard CzarLite product, within Canada via the CanadaLite product, and between the U.S. and Canada by way of CzarLite International.
The webRater product is an interactive rating system that gives carriers the ability to provide online quotes to shippers' and carriers' sales and terminal staff, as well as corporate traffic departments who need to keep their internal users aware of transportation pricing agreements.
In addition to being an ASP site, smc3.com is now easier to navigate than its predecessor, smcsystems.com. This is because all site pages are now accessible in one click, from the top navigation menu within the site's frameset. The product information at smc3.com has also been expanded with case studies and more detailed descriptions.

SMC will feature the smc3.com ASP at this year's NIT League conference, November 11-14 in Charlotte, NC.
