SMC³ Board of Directors
Atlanta, Ga. - December 7, 2009—SMC³, a transportation industry association and technology provider serving motor carriers, shippers and logistics service professionals, announced today that its members have elected Brent Holliday, CEO of Nebraska Transport Company, to serve on the Board of Directors for the remainder of the 2009-2011 term.
Holliday joins the SMC³ Board of Directors following the retirement of Pete Martin as President of Lakeville Motor Express, Inc. The SMC³ Board is comprised of 15 members representing the interests of the LTL industry. The goal of the SMC³ Board is to direct SMC³ in a manner that facilitates ongoing win-win relationships between carriers and shippers of LTL freight.
“Brent is a wonderful addition to our Board,” said Jack E. Middleton, SMC³ president and CEO. “With 30-plus years of experience in motor carrier transportation, he has a wealth of knowledge surrounding what it takes to run a successful carrier operation.”
Nebraska Transport Company (NTC) has been a family-owned regional carrier since 1973, and has served the contiguous 48 states and parts of Canada since 1987. NTC operates terminals in Gering, Alliance, Sidney, North Platte, Grand Island, Lincoln, Sioux Falls, Omaha, Kansas City, Chicago, Rapid City, Minneapolis, Des Moines and Denver.
“I am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to serve SMC³ and its customers in this capacity,” commented Holliday. “NTC has been a member of the SMC³ organization since 2001, and their long-standing expertise in LTL pricing has helped us succeed in an ever-changing business environment.”
Because NTC is headquartered outside of the Southeast Holliday is considered an “at-large” board member. (“Regional” directors represent companies located within one of the following 10 states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Mississippi, and the portion of Louisiana on the east side of the Mississippi river.)
