SMC³'s data library contains a complete history of CzarLite, CanadaLite and MexicoLite, as well as a comprehensive list of individual carrier modules, such as ABF Freight System, FedEx Freight, Old Dominion Freight Line, Roadway Express, USFreightways and Yellow Transportation. Also included are other “benchmark” price lists, like Mars, FCAC intra-Canada, major shipper base rates and Mile-X (a 3-digit ZIP code mileage guide).
Small Package Data
SMC³ now makes FedEx and UPS package rates available from all points to all points within the contiguous U.S., and provides all service levels (express, ground, cwt., etc.) in one data module per carrier. Services available in the FedEx and UPS small package tariffs include: 1) UPS Next Day Air, Second Day Air, Three Day Select and Ground, and 2) FedEx Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight, Second Day, Saver and Ground.
Data modules can be created from pricing data submitted by you or your customer. This is an ideal solution for the creation of low-cost rating systems and to create automated rating capabilities from foreign data sources. This service business allows carriers and freight bill processors to maintain one simple interface to all their rating requirements.
Order Processing
Pricing data is very proprietary in nature and sensitive to annual increases and maintenance updates. The following guidelines will help us fill your request accurately and prevent the undesirable distribution of carrier data to unauthorized users.
- Prior to ordering data, research your carrier/shipper agreements to confirm the effective date of the data required. Determine if the required data is a generally applicable rate scale or custom for your carrier/shipper agreement. (Hint: many carriers indicate their general price list with a number in the 500 series — ABF 504, RDWY 507, etc.)
- Each data module represents different carrier/shipper rate releases. Examples include: ABCD 500 US/US rates, Effective 1-1-2003 and ABCD 505 US/CAN rates, Effective 1-1-2003.
- It’s important to note that many of our data modules require a simple release from the carrier or shipper prior to filling your order. If the module you need requires a release, we will contact the carrier/shipper to initiate the approval process. Once we receive their approval your order will be filled.
- In an environment where shippers select an individual carrier’s pricing to serve as a base rate for a transportation Request for Proposal (RFP), it is not unusual for one carrier to request the data module of another. In all such cases, we seek permission from the carrier.
- Keep in mind that we do not “list” all companies. If the data you need is not listed, please click here to send us an email research request. Be sure to list the carrier/shipper name and contact person(s) for us to work with. We will research our unpublished list of modules and advise you on availability or the process of obtaining data for our use in the system.
