CarrierConnect XL

This newest version of CarrierConnect combines the complete carrier database with leading-edge SOA technology and Web delivery systems to keep you on top of important carrier information. Day/time definite delivery calculations enable you to make informed decisions in the planning of multiple shipment scenarios. What’s more, CarrierConnect maintains historic information so you can accurately audit freight bills as well as review effective dates for auditing carrier on-time performance.
SMC³’s SOA delivery system enables CarrierConnect carriers to update their service and contact information via the Web, in real-time. This means every time you access the tool you receive the very latest carrier information. The new XL technology also introduces a “shipment mode” feature, to support a broader range of carrier offerings both domestically and internationally.
CarrierConnect COM Technology
With SMC³’s CarrierConnect COM technology, you can build a custom carrier selection system or an integrated component that runs alongside RateWare to access the CarrierConnect data and return points of service, transit times and detailed service guide information. The product includes both detailed transit data for carriers and the technology to use the data and interface it to your supply chain applications.
The CarrierConnect COM object is extremely small, fast and efficient and is designed to operate on 32-bit Windows platforms running on Intel processors. The design is fully self-contained, which technically means that the target machine does not require any additional files or DLLs to register and work. From a non-technical viewpoint, this means that the system can easily integrate with your existing programs using simple techniques and minimal time requirements.

CarrierConnect Desktop Edition
CarrierConnect Desktop Edition is a software system designed for quick and easy access to the CarrierConnect database from your desktop. The cornerstone of the system is the carrier service and transit engine, which incorporates custom settings that allow you to create a unique information structure that meets the requirements of your business. These settings include the ability to establish and maintain very detailed carrier geographic routing files containing city names, ZIP codes and postal codes for the U.S. and Canada.
After the routing files are established in the system, additional features enable you to correctly identify your supply chain shipment sources and delivery points, as well as the transit times between them. Further refinement of the routing logic allows you to assign preference codes to carriers and then rank available carriers by what is most important to your supply chain.
Features such as the mileage guide and planning calendar enable you to quickly and accurately route shipments to meet critical dates. Service maps provide a snapshot of a carrier’s transit times and terminal locations while the U.S.-to-metric and density calculators quickly calculate shipment characteristics.
