SMC³’s CzarLite base rates can be licensed and accessed through an online application right here on the SMC³ Web site. This online rating system contains many features that allow users to establish the pricing details that correlate with each of their carrier agreements. Included in these settings are discounting, minimum charges, fuel surcharges (by individual carrier or national average), FAKs and a multi-purpose rate adjustment factor to handle other rate increases or decreases. The discounting feature is robust, allowing you to use simple discounts, weight break discounts or discounts attached to very specific geographic lanes, and apply the discounts to the rate or charges.
The system defaults allow each user to complete their individual profile, thus eliminating repetitive keystrokes. The rate block display feature provides a class and weight matrix for each origin and destination pair. This feature enables you to view the actual rate lines or the rate alternation points, and it is a very useful tool for shipment planning and freight bill auditing.
