SMC³ licenses products to both end users and developers for integration into their software systems. Our developer tools include software, technical documents, program and data files for testing, and support from our technical staff. All of our technical documents contain both written logic and detailed record layouts so that you can easily implement the software into your programs.
SMC³’s pricing is segmented into four categories that address the needs of distinctly different business applications and sales channels. All of SMC³’s listed pricing, unless otherwise noted, is for retail end users. If you are a developer, then Commercial or Alliance pricing may apply. If you are a 3PL, service bureau or carrier, certain applications may qualify for Commercial pricing. Please read the following pricing explanations for more details or contact SMC³ Sales.
Special Note: All prices are in U.S. dollars. The products and prices listed on this Web site are subject to change without notice.
Retail Pricing
By far the most common pricing, this is a traditional software license and support agreement. In most cases, this pricing applies when an end-user customer buys directly from SMC³ for implementation by the company’s IT department. Retail pricing also applies when SMC³ products are purchased as “ready-to-install” to an outside vendor's system, or whenvendor sales do not meet SMC³’s Alliance Partner Program qualifications.
Commercial and 3PL Pricing
This pricing applies to high volume pricing applications where individual user licensing is impractical or price prohibitive (i.e., motor carrier billing systems, freight bill processing, audit and payment activities, and other service bureau environments including 3PLs).
Alliance Partner Pricing
Vendors of transportation or business software who meet certain wholesale/retail qualifications in terms of quality, unit sales and marketing efforts may qualify for Alliance Partner Pricing. For more information on SMC³'s Software Alliance Partner Program and benefits, click here.
Internet Pricing
This pricing applies to e-commerce firms interested in integrating SMC³ software into a Web-based environment, as well as 3PLs or freight payment companies wishing to provide their services over the Web. Certain requirements must be met before licensing the software. Pricing is determined based upon your market, your customer base and how the application will be used.
Developer's Guarantee
Your purchase of any of SMC³’s development and integration solutions is risk-free. If at any time within the first 30 days of receiving your development software product you determine that it is unable to meet your functional requirements, you may return the software for a full refund.
Data Maintenance
SMC³ maintains pricing data for over 80 of the most popular national, multi-regional and regional carriers. For a partial listing of data modules, click here.
Pricing data typically changes on an annual basis, and we closely monitor these changes in the marketplace. Updates to pricing are promptly added to our programs so you always have the most current information.
SMC³ also maintains the points of service and transit times for over 155 carriers. Our data technicians constantly monitor postal bulletins and carrier data for changes and implement those changes throughout the systems' distance and basing matrices in order to maintain the most current service data. Users can download data directly from our Web site on a daily basis or receive updates every 120 days via CD.
Software Maintenance & Support
Maintenance and support of SMC³ software is provided on your original order for 12 months from time of delivery. Maintenance for subsequent years is purchased per the listed pricing on this site.
Pricing data and rate levels change periodically and we offer you several ways to keep your rating products current. You may choose to receive updates or rate level changes on either a subscription basis or an as-needed basis. Note that failure to purchase and install updates may result in rate errors and data omissions.
