Political Analyst Amy Walter, Speaker Steve Gilliland to Headline Connections 2015

Peachtree City, Ga. – Renowned political analyst Amy Walter, the former political director of ABC News and the current editor of The Cook Political Report, and motivational speaker Steve Gilliland will be the keynote speakers during SMC³’s Connections 2015 conference, held June 21-24 in San Diego.

Walter and Gilliland will speak during a conference featuring more than 20 hours of transportation content and 15 hours of dedicated networking opportunities, which include SMC³’s popular Ignite speed meetings. Conference panelists include the industry’s preeminent professionals, who will probe the innovations, challenges and latest technology shaping today’s transportation climate. Through impactful panels, extensive networking opportunities and targeted breakout sessions, Connections offers a 360-degree perspective on what’s driving the supply chain industry forward. The agenda for Connections 2015 includes discussion of density pricing, trucking regulations, the health of the U.S. economy, trade between the U.S. and Mexico, and the evolving trade relationship between the U.S. and Cuba.

“Hundreds of shippers, carriers, logistics providers and technology suppliers cultivate their network and knowledge at SMC³’s annual Connections conference,” stated SMC³ CEO Jack Middleton. “Our commitment to providing SMC³ conference participants with strategic content and quality networking opportunities continue to differentiate our annual conferences from other U.S. supply chain events.”

Attendees also have an opportunity to compete in SMC³’s Annual Golf Classic at the historic, beautiful Torrey Pines Golf Course on Tuesday. For non-golfers, SMC³ presents two intensive educational programs on behalf of The Academy; interested parties can undergo an in-depth, day-long exploration of either transportation contract law or LTL freight transportation.

“We look forward to attending SMC³ conferences to hear about the economic indicators that influence the transportation industry. They are the only industry events that consistently offer this type of session,” said Scott Lane, CIO of Beaver Street Fisheries.

This year also marks SMC³’s 80th year of existence. While the company began as a freight rate bureau in 1935, it has evolved into the industry’s definitive expert on LTL pricing and a top-tier provider of pricing technology solutions. The organization’s rich history and stature as a leader in transportation knowledge shines through in its annual supply chain educational events.
